We are in the Catllaràs Area of Natural Interest, a massif unknown even to many Berguedans. This place can be defined very well with two adjectives: fierce and wild.
During this route, we will encounter hard climbs and demanding terrain, following several tracks that intertwine with each other. We will have to overcome some obstacle in this calcareous terrain and, at the same time, be attentive, since we are in the natural habitat of the deer and the grouse, a threatened species, especially due to the degradation of its habitat.
The Serra del Catllaràs is an area of forests. In the lowest part, beech forest, and in the highest part, which reaches 1700 meters in height, pines, oaks and oaks. But not all are forests, this route offers magnificent panoramic views of the Pre-Pyrenees and the Pyrenees. Therefore, we must not forget to lift our heads from the handlebars and, if necessary, put our feet on the ground to admire this opulent environment. Especially on our way through the Calamites, a spectacular viewpoint of the Berguedà, with the peak of Pedraforca to the north and Montserrat to the south.
This route, therefore, does not lack ingredients. Surely, the demands of these pedals will be compensated by this privileged natural space. The route, moreover, has been created in large part from the race of the same name, "La Catllaràs", which has been organized for more than 20 editions in the beautiful town of Sant Julià de Cerdanyola.
