On 25 November 2005, an international jury meeting in Paris agreed that UNESCO should declare La Patum a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
La Patum is Berga’s quintessential festival. Having become a unique form of popular theatre in the world, it is the miracle that Berga has managed to create and preserve. A miracle that the people of the city who came before us have kept alive for more than six hundred years.
Since July 2020, the La Patum festival groups have been housed in the Convent of Sant Francesc, where an exhibition displays 124 elements from the La Patum festival groups, around fifteen costume pieces, three audiovisual displays and around ten texts.
It is a showcase of the festival, where all the groups are displayed following the order in which they perform in the square during Corpus Christi.
